Ucla is a good team that could be a great team in March. One of the best offenses in the country. Defense is their weakness.

We have a good defense. I'm looking forward to watching this matchup. Tempo is important. Make them play defense until we get a great shot. Don't beat ourselves. Play good defense.

I believe UCLA has 5 McDonald's All Americans on their current roster along with Wooden's ghost providing support from the sidelines. Except for Kentucky (and perhaps Arizona) I don't think we will face better talent all year.

Can't stress enough the importance of transition defense against UCLA.

Our length in zone D will have to stretch way beyond the arc, too. Bruins can light it up from deep.

They looked very beatable against Nebraska. Let's do this!!

Yes, this is probably the most talented team we face along with Kentucky. Lonzo Ball will be a top 3 pick and Bryce Alford and Isaac Hamilton are some of the best shooters in the country. They have 3 starters hitting 41+% from 3. They have incredible guards. This is not a good matchup for us.

Survive their runs and then respond with our own. Our mental toughness will be put to the test here.

Not that it really matters this early in the season save for making our game scores easier to find and keeping our name in the "spotlight", but if we knock off UCLA then I imagine we'll make our first Top 25 appearance this year.

Good point. Fortunately, UCLA doesn't get a lot of steals, but we can't fall asleep on made baskets. We're 5th in 2FG%, but Leaf has size and is a scorer. I'm far more worried about guarding the 3. More length, more Williams, Hogg, Gilder, even Vila. Less Collins and Hampton.

I agree. This is our Marquee debut after a Sweet 16 team last year. Otherwise, we aon't have a national spotlight except for the Zona, Kentucky, and U Florida games.

A key to the game is a fast start for A&M, then avoiding choking last in the first half.

A little concerned about court conditions at the Honda Center. The court is on top of a hockey rink and the Nebraska coach complained a little about how cold it is. One of the studio guys mentioned condensation and VA tech guard just slipped at end of half.

They curtained off the nose-bleed sections...

no overturned cups covering the beer taps, so we got that going for us...which is nice.
