For the last year, most of us have been projecting the rise of MSU basketball under Howland and his recruiting.

With Newman transferring, where does that leave MSU? Will we start to see recruiting take a step back, and do y'all still think MSU is a big mover next season. Most of the early 2016-2017 early rankings by the national guys don't list them. I'm not sure what to expect from them next season.

Returning players Weatherspoon and Ready are good, plus a highly regarded recruiting class. Did they pick up any key grad transfers? I haven't paid enough attention to them to go off memory on that.

Losing Newman hurt but they still will have a lot of young talent. Conventional wisdom is if a team is relying on several (though talented) freshman would be some struggles in the non-con, then a team in conference play that will take its lumps in road games but be very dangerous at home.
