According to Goodman he's going to graduate and transfer.

Averaged 13.5 pts on over 40% shooting from 3 playing 30 mpg last year.

Someone get the City of CS brochures ready.

His brother is going to be a freshman at USC so that's where he's likely headed, but you never know.

the more, the merrier... but no way someone looks at our 1-3 depth and transfers here, do they?

As a guard for one year? Why not? We need another one.

I don't think we have many minutes, if any at all, to offer.

1 spot is covered by Hampton & Caldwell
2 is Gilder most of the time, Corpew/Kobie filling in
3 is Hogg most of the time, with Corpew/Vila filling in

And if Caldwell is a stud, you can probably move Hampton to the 2 at times, which eats up even more minutes. Vila not showing up, Corprew not qualifying, or an unexpected transfer would change the math, but that's how I see it at this point.

I do like the idea of adding an accomplished scorer to the roster, but I think you have to push someone out to do so.

Who knows how Hampton will play at this level and Caldwell is a true freshman point guard. I like Gilder but is he better than Matthews?

Matthews would have to feel pretty good about playing minutes at the 2 and 3 I'd think.

Again, not saying he even wants to come here, but obviously we'd take him and I don't think our roster would scare him off. We all like Gilder and some of the guys in the mix but Matthews is probably better right now.

if this is EA Sports NCAA Basketball 2017, then hell yeah bring him in and see who is best.

And looking at his numbers, he would probably be no worse than #2 in an 8 guard rotation. But like pumpkin has mentioned regarding landing a front court grad transfer, he likely has much better options (that provide less resistance to shots/playing time) and we already have a bunch of pieces in place that must be taken into account.

I'm totally on board, I just think all factors in play make it unlikely (assuming we are even on his radar).

Gonzaga is the early favorite to land Cal transfer Jordan Mathews, sources told @CBSSports. Makes perfect sense for both sides.

Zags or USC would be the most likely destination. Nice player. Cal has lost a ton of talent to early departures.

But then we'd probably have one of the 'not best' players transfer out this off-season, just when it looked like we might make it through the entire summer with a big goose egg in that statistic column!

and yet somehow they kept the most prized prospect
