It is interesting seeing some of the possible connections when you follow recruiting.

I noticed from Vila's twitter that one of the current Strength & Conditioning coaches for the San Antonio Spurs and their associated NBA D-League team (the Austin Spurs) is also currently a Research Associate in College Station at Texas A&M's Exercise and Sport Nutrition Lab.

She is also from Spain and was the head strength and condition coach for the Spanish Swimming Federation as well as a Strength & Conditioning coach from 2011-2014 for FC Barcelona's basketball 2nd Team, U18, U16, U14 teams...the basketball club that Eric Vila has just left to join us. Vila tweeted that he is looking forward to working with her again.

One thing that seems clear from following basketball recruiting the past couple of years is A&M's S&C program, Darby, etc. have played a significant role in helping to land elite recruits.

We just got back from Barcelona. It is such a beautiful city and its hard for us to leave each time. So I can sympathize with Eric.
