Oh yea...in about 1993 or so. Dave somehow caught the referee's eye and very demonstratively put both hands on his own throat and gave a full-on choke sign. Granted, Dave's assessment was accurate, and it was ridiculously funny...but you just can't do that to an official.

The referee that ejected Dave was suspended after the game and later fired. He never called another SWC game. The SWC made it very clear that it was the ref who was out of line, not Dave.

Doubtful he will call the same team 2 days in a row. They'll have him in a different time slot tomorrow...or it's possible he will get on a plane tonight and officiate at a different conference tourney tomorrow.

South made eye contact with referee Brian Stout and gave him the "choke" sign by jerking his right hand to his throat.

Stout immediately turned and asked SWC assistant commissioner Tim Fitzpatrick whether he had the authority to eject someone from press row. When Fitzpatrick said yes, Stout recruited two security guards, crossed the floor and ejected South from the second row.

This x 1,000,000. Most of y'all are too young to remember Ed Hightower but he made every game about him. His calls (even the correct ones) were a lesson in theatrics. This guy would run 15 steps down the court to call a charge while hopping on one leg.

Pat Adams is bad but he's following the footsteps of the games biggest drama queen.
