Baylor had 5 days rest, we had 2 coming off an emotional, mentally and physically draining comeback win Saturday to then go on a huge road game where some inexperience didn't help. Don't understand why everyone is giving up on us so early and especially putting this on Kennedy... 10 missed FTs (2 on front ends), 17 TOs (probably 10 unforced lazy passes), probably 10-15 uncontested shots we passed on and some of the weakest boxing out imaginable. We still shot 58% on 16 assists and forced 13 TOs. This was the players. Our leaders Jordan and AC didn't want the ball in their hands, Jalen threw the usual 5 or 6 temper tantrums, there was 0 fire, 0 leadership and loads of fear, laziness and fatigue almost all around. Quit looking for reasons to jump ship so quickly, we are not a trash team. Something just needs to shake these kids up and maybe tonight will do that.

So you looked at the box score, huh?

Yeah, why would you blame the coach for the entire team showing no fire? It's not like it's his job to have them motivated and ready to play at their highest level game in and game out. Solid post.

It's ***** Baylor!

How could a team be not prepared and motivated?

Lord OP.
1) This isn't football.
2) These kids are in their late teens, early 20s and they don't need days and days of rest. Having games on Saturday and Tuesday isn't at all rigorous or exhausting. Baylor had no advantage whatsoever with regard to rest.

How can you prove this coaching staff didn't try to light a fire under them and push them? You can't, but you can look at the players and see their apathy and fear regardless of a coach getting in their face, and it showed tonight. To the post above, how would I have known Jalen whined like a 12 year old the entire game as usual if I only checked the box score?

0.0 offensive rebounds. Fire Everybody.

I would agree with the OP. Baylor had an unfair advantage and had multiple days to prepare and rest. We were coming off a huge emotional road win which is better than any win that Baylor has this season.

Give us the same time off and time to prepare...we win that game 9 times out of 10.

No we don't. Is there a chance we had tired legs, of course. That is not the reason we got blown out. And no, you don't get to point at the final score and say it wasn't a blowout after Baylor stopped playing any defense with 2+ minutes left in the game.

Pathetic. This is a thread I would expect to see on Baylorfans. We'd win 9 times out of 10 if we had more rest? Really? Blaming rest? Awesome.

Did you even watch the game? We were tired and the refs were protecting their bigs. Give us time to rest and we win that game 9 out of 10 times.

This argument might hold weight if we weren't down over 20 points during the game.

Also, praying you're a troll.

Don't bother defending yourself AGFEVER. Most do not understand the psychology of a trap game and what a win like Saturday does physiologically to the body. I can't agree about the whole 9-10 pt win thing or that Baylor had a huge advantage...but this is just the way college basketball works and how home teams always have the potential to blow out other teams, ESPECIALLY IN RIVALRY GAMES, regardless of if they are unranked or in the top 10. It happens. We get so spoiled because of a big win in football and basketball and expect huge things when we aren't even the ones on the freaking court, it's ridiculous! If this game is played at Reed, hey it could have been the other way around, you just never know. It could be worse, we could be like Michigan and lose 2 straight home games to NJIT and E. Michigan. Blah.

Not sure if serious on most of these posts. Lack of rest and emotional win had nothing to do with this.

We lack ball handling/ability to create, struggle at shooting, can't stretch the defense with passing or outside shooting, got owned on the boards, made a lot of dumb decisions and lazy plays, and gave up a ton of easy buckets.

It's early in the season and baylor played pretty well, but our team needs an identity and some coaching up.

Dude, it wasn't a 9 to 10 point win. I said that if we had the same advantage Baylor had...5 days of preparation and rest...we win that game 9 out of 10 times.

The refs also protected Baylor's bigs. There were a couple of possessions where our players were called for fouling Baylor's bigs and we weren't within 5 ft of their player.

I love the huge emotional road win we had....but it really set Baylor up for an advantage. Hopefully, Kennedy can adjust the schedule for next season to give us that same advantage. We will kill Baylor at Reed.

How do 18 year old kids have dead legs? The problems are coaching and not having enough prime time players.

Villanova has killed teams for years playing 4 or 5 guards. Uconn won a title without a lot up front. But you've got to have guards crash the boards like junk yard dogs and have guards who can ball and score.

It's sad that the huge emotional win we had setting up for this "trap game" was against a 5-3 Arizona State team.

In the majority of the sports lexicon a "trap game" is the game after a close win over a great opponent, usually an upset of sorts.

For Texas A&M basketball, it's beating an ASU team that won't even sniff the NCAA Tournament by 1 in a game they were favored by 8 in.

Three days between games is plenty of rest (not football) and has no effect on a team's ability to block out.

Yeah, there's as much dumb on the board right now as there was bad b'ball.

This team is never going to beat Baylor 9/10 times with "rest" You can't get a small team who doesn't rebound bigger or the size they have start blocking out. Who is the lead dog?

You'll take it back. ASU is no pushover and it will end up showing as a good quality win. Just wait and see my friend

$100 says ASU doesn't make the NCAA Tournament.

We struggled to win at home against a team that is most likely NIT-bound.

That's closer to "dodging a bullet" than a big emotional upset... And after dodging a bullet a team is supposd to come out focused and sharp the next game (if we're to believe all that sports psych mumbo jumbo garbage).

This was a statement game regardless of Saturday. Did this team look prepared or good enough for any statements? The team looked soft and scared and the coaches did as well.

This is garbage. Refs had nothing to do with it. They blew 2 calls in the 1st and that was it. We got out hustled . Dead legs? Dead legs? It was BU. grow a pair and man up. Act like you know what it meant. Act like the fanbase and hustle your ass off. Act like a loose ball is something to get on the wood for. Act like a rebound is worth more that sticking one arm out for. Act like a coast to coast rebound/layup pisses you off. Act like it was a big game. Not some random away trip that you get to come home afterwards only 90 minutes later and sleep it off. Have a touch of pride instead of waiting for Caruso to bail your ass out. Have enough sense to know Green is liability from the 3 point line and be ready to rebound. Have enough sense to not pass to Allen at any time under any circumstance. Have enough sense to ask Space to go to the bucket and for God's sake, have enough sense to have Roberson foul someone instead of having a nice view of everyone punking him.

It's one game. Bad loses happen every day in the NCAA. Just ask Florida. Wait to whine/complain until this becomes a regularity with this team this year. It's so tiring hearing all the complaints after every lose and praising everyone but BK for every win this year.

Embarrassing inept and unprepared team tonight, but not exactly a rarity for old Coach .512.
He will have better talent but his ability to develop that talent has not been demonstrated in 17 years as a head coach. He is the manifestation of the Peter Principle, that states that a man will ultimately be promoted to his highest level of his incompetency.

We will win games (precious few) that we are supposed to lose and lose a lot more that we could have won, but Billy Kennedy will never be more than what he is now ...a baleful coach with a 51% winning .and the charisma of a crawfish. They don't want to deal with the performance merry go round and Billy's mumbled excuses.

Fans don't know the players because BK keeps running them off, AD will not market the team( s), and the fans really just do nt care as much . If they were truthful they'd say " we don't know Coach Kennedy but what little we have seen sucks so adios Reed. " he must be a good man because A&M would not have him here if he wasn't winning and developing players .

Benign neglect will be just fine. They'll

The only way I can accept the existence of this thread is to operate under the assumption that it's filled with an immense level of trolling. We've literally had every bad effort and close game called a "trap game" to the point that we're playing an entire trap schedule.
