elspankdog---Turge could say hello the wrong way and it would get blown out of proportion here. The easily offended can't handle Turge's honesty and in your face style.
Fortunately his players can. Then again, they are men and we are dealing with whiny children for the most part here.

I just went and re-watched the end of the game. In the last few seconds he pumps his fist twice and yells something (I think "Let's go) while looking in the direction of the former students on the opposite side of the court from the benches and then mutters something. Certainly seems he was trying to pump up the reaction for the end of our seniors last game at Reed. I don't think it's much of a big deal.

From reading the OP, it sounds like the OP did not attend the game, nor watch it on TV, yet has already decided that Turgeon did something wrong. Not much of a source if you ask me.

I notice the OP lives in College Station, as well. If he didn't go to the game, why not?

Heard your call on Chip's show and agree with what you said.

Turge is a great coach and has done nothing to apologize for.

He has established a great program that will only get better in the near future.

Why do people post crap about our coach like that?

if you really think the whining on a texags basketball boards is the equivalent to the real world, and what Turge sees and hears day in and day out- you are completely out of touch with reality.

unless Turge is obsessively checking message boards (which there is no way in hell he is), he's not hearing the overly sensitive whining. the reality is, its a couple hundred posters on a message board, that Turge knows nothing about- all of which if they passed him on the street would tell him he is doing a great job and keep it up.

quit trying to patrol the internet and take a message board for what it is. your posts have grown to the point of being just as annoying and ridiculous as the ones that complain about anything and everything said. you are the guy who complains about the complainers and is even more annoying because you talk down A&M all the time when you didn't even attend.

Hey Papa Joe. Your post is irrelevant. The program was in place exactly as it is before Turge got here. He kept the car on the road.

Having said that. I think Turge is doing a good job. The recruiting needs to improve, but I think next year will show that it has.

8T2...I was at the game when doors opened...missed 2 games at home this year.
Saw the ovations for the seniors before and during the game.

I just posted what I heard on the radio show with 3 guys who follow Aggie sports closely as I do. I did leave as game ended and did not see or hear what Turge reportedly did or said.
My seat is on opposite side of the court.
I thought the seniors got plenty of recognition and numerous ovations.

I'm usually the first one in my section to arrive and I watch warm ups...I don't stay after the games.

I have season tickets for the women too. I appreciate the way Blair appreciates the fans who come to the women's games. In a lot of different ways, Blair thanks his teams fans and supporters.

Something can be said for accenting the positive. I thought the atmosphere and attendance was outstanding for both senior day games.

I don't mind the profanity but when he dropped his pants and mooned the student section, well, I thought that was a little over the line.

So what exactly is he accused of saying? I commented on it at the time and it looked to me like the press could hear it. I suspected he was upset by the lack of crowd noise.

FINALLY

Good Grief!! Really? this really getting old with all the Turge bashing.

#1 - Chip Howard talks about Aggie sports on his show? Has he changed his show's format lately?

#2 - What happened at the end of game was Turge spotted BCG in the crowd rubbing elbows and trading flask shots with the TcEh AD. He was pissed and trying to alert an usher about the alcohol violation. However before he could get anyone's attention a few texags posters had formed a line in front of Billy with mouths agape begging for him to insert his genitalia. It was a real ugly scene, especially on Sr. day so I'm willing to give Turge a pass.

Wow. All I heard about was the mooning.

I saw this when it happened and rewatched it a few times. The crowd was slow to applaud the team as the clock ran out. He waved at the crowd to get up and it appears that he said "effing people" and shook his head.

This is rather interesting. I can't decide how
I feel about it. That's not to say I'm not a huge Turge supporter. I also don't blame him for any comments about attendance this year. This is just weird. I had to run over to the bench as time expired to give the seniors their big heads so I didn't notice it or the noise at the time. They did get lots of ovations throughout the game, and even a Marshal chant. I think they got applause at the end too but if not they deserved it. I don't like the idea of him referring to fans as "f-ing people," though.
Is it possible he was pumped up (which he was per the scream going into locker room) and telling the team to get up in the stands for the War Hymn? I have it tivoed, I'll watch it tomorrow and see what I think.
Regardless, Turge is the man. I agree some are still mad at his completely justified complaints about attendance.

I listen to the writer's roundtable every Monday. I don't think the guys would have made up this story. A short apology and it's over.

having all your backups that you just put into the game (3 of them being seniors) dribble out the clock instead of letting them play is not the way to pump up anyone.

Turge set a bad standard as far as senior night post game in year 1 by not doing anything after the game for the players, by letting them speak or whatnot or at least thanking them and the fans for supporting the team. It would be nice to let them speak, if they want to. I still remember Marlon, AK ,and Acie on their senior night speaking after the game.
