I didn't get any answers on the recruiting board, so I'll ask on here.

Is A&M looking at Alex Caruso at all? He's very good and athletic I know, I've seen him play.

I don't think they are recruiting Alex, but I know Sam Houston has been at Consol to watch him play a couple times this year.

Alex falls into the category of a very very good high school player because his team needs him to do everything. But, he is a Sam Houston, SFA type player in college. D-1 talent bur not Tier 1 D-1 type.

Kid can play though.

I have no knowledge of his recruitment, but it wouldnt surprise me if he walked on. His dad is an asst. AD at A&M, Alex is a former ball boy, and he goes to the same church as some of the coaches.

I've played on a basketball team with Jimmy Gilbert Jr. before, he is very athletic. After all, he did play defensive end this year for his high school as a sophmore.

Gilbert is pretty good for a sophomore. He is a guy that they aren't going to run the offense through (that's Caruso) but he has the ability to beat a team if you LET him score and board.

This year his game is to play the big man role inside, swat shots, board, and get the easy layups. Other than that he is a sophomore and plays like one alot of times.

Caruso is blowing up on the recruiting scene this summer. He picked up an offer from Arizona State recently, as well as interest from several other D1 schools.

Apparently Caruso is on several radars now. Looks like a nice glue-guy and all-around player. Would love to see A&M take a chance on a home town kid like this. As mentioned his stock has risen considerably this summer.

Word is it is down to A&M and Colorado. From what I read, it sounded like we were in the lead but that Colorado still had a decent shot because he knows one of the coaches there really well.

I HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY AS WELL AND THE KID IS VERY GOOD, I SAW HIM PLAYING VERY GOOD. AND VERY ATHLETIC HE IS A GOOD PLAYER I SAW HIM PLAYING GOOD AND ATHLETIC, AND THROUGH MANY HOLES

Another website that begins with an r and rhymes with overalls has an article about Caruso's commitment. They are rave about Caruso's ability to shoot and also his ability to burn you if you guard him too closely. They said he can play as a tall point and make plays for others.

Has anyone seen him play in person? Do you think these skills will translate to the next level?

I played ball with him in hs and Alex is the smartest basketball player I have ever played with. He is aware of everything happening on the court at a given time and has the skill set to take advantage of that
