Could my friends and I bring signs to the basketball game on Saturday or are they against Reed rules?

Might as well try...the worst they can do is make you throw them away. They don't really have regulations listed for Reed apart from "no food or drinks." I know signs aren't allowed at all at Kyle.

Pretty sure its OK as long as:

A) No foul language or bashing of specific player/official
B) You don't make a moron of yourself by holding it up constantly so the people behind you can't see the game
C) Rule B is more important than Rule A.

Not sure. Though I do know that as of Saturday, you are no longer allowed to bring in your own newspaper. It was the first time in three years I've been stopped for bring one in. Why does it matter?

just fold it up and put it in your pocket then unfold it when needed.

Or bring in a sharpie and write on the back of those posters of other teams they have available.

I know it happens...who can forget the "Gates learned defense here" sign? I think the rule is enforced unevenly, probably depending on the mood of the usher. Be "discreet." And, for the rest of us, be clever.

There were several young kids with small signs (1/4 of poster size) in the row in front of us at one of the women's games. We ended up moving to different seats because they kept holding up the signs while the game was in progress.

Speaking of the rules I am thinking of buying the cheapest tickets and then getting there way early to sit in the student section if I have a valid ticket will they care if I sit there?

Nope. There's no checking tickets in the student aka General admission section.

The PJ Tucker game was when the sign rules really started to get serious

The only rule at Reed Arena is that any police officer working security is required to kick out bobinator on sight.

Except that they don't open the doors for regular ticket holder until 30 minutes after the student/general admission tickets last I checked!

Dude... not to brag.... my sister made that sign and let me hold it! I got to be in twelfth man magazine because of it.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
