If there are 8 Big East teams in the tournament, they had to put some Big East team in the bottom half of that bracket. Rutgers probably wasn't the best choice.

Utah was projected as a 2/3 seed before they lost to a Colorado St. team that hadn't won a conference game in the conference tourney. They ended up with an 8 seed.

8 Big 12 (also 8 in the Big East), which I think is as many as you could make a case for.
I was finishing up my undergrad the first year or so of Cremmins. Nice to meet another jacket on the board.
