Texas college basketball fans will be among the first to enjoy the upcoming State Farm Lone Star Showdown between Texas and Texas A&M on the big screen at their local movie theatre
Burbank, CA --February 12, 2008 - ESPN and The Walt Disney Studios are teaming up to offer sports fans a unique way to experience their favorite college sporting events by broadcasting them live at a digitally equipped state-of-the-art theater in their neighborhood. The excitement begins when ESPN HD broadcasts the upcoming rematch between #11 TEXAS AND #16 TEXAS A&M on Monday, February 18 at 8 p.m. (CT).
College basketball fans from across the state, who are unable to attend the game at UT’s sold-out Frank Erwin Center, can watch the cross-state rivals’ tip off from the equivalent of courtside seats. From the comfort of their local theater, fans will experience all of the action and thrills of this Big 12 match-up in brilliant color and digital clarity through the DLP Cinema ® digital projection system. The entire broadcast will be presented commercial free and will include special ESPN content created exclusively for theater audiences. Unlike a normal movie presentation, fans are encouraged to cheer and root for their team during the broadcast – just as if they were at the game.
