1 Kansas Jayhawks 14 2
2 Kansas State Wildcats 13 3
3 Texas Longhorns 13 3
4 Texas A&M Aggies 11 5
5 Texas Tech Red Raiders 8 8
6 Baylor Bears 7 9
7 Oklahoma Sooners 7 9
8 Missouri Tigers 7 9
9 Nebraska Cornhuskers 6 10
10 Oklahoma St. Cowboys 5 11
11 Colorado Buffaloes 3 13
12 Iowa State Cyclones 3 13

Interesting to see Tech jump so far up to 5th. The last game of the Big XII season with Bears and Tards in Lubbock could be a big one for both.

Kenpom has a "predicted" record, but I just went with their W-L's they have projected.

I'd take 11-5 and a 1st Round by in the Big XII Tourney anyday, esp after starting 1-3.

We should take care of business on Saturday against OK State, but if we find a way to win on Monday in Austin, oh man - its on!

based on those standings the big12 might get only 4, maybe 5 teams in the dance when all year long people have been saying 6.

also, ken pom has kst winnong out, meaning they will beat ku in lawrence?

not happening.

these predictions must have occurred before tech beat kst last night, then?

I gues this was before yesterdays game.

KSU and KU both have 2 losses so one of them will get at least one more.

What Jeber said. It is mathematically impossible for the standings to finish like that. Either KU or KSU must have 3 losses minimum.

Heres the actual current projections KenPom uses (original post is game by game W/L predictions)...

Kansas 13-3
Kansas State 12-4
Texas 12-4
Texas A&M 11-5
Baylor 8-8
Missouri 8-8
Oklahoma 7-9
Texas Tech 7-9
Nebraska 6-10
Oklahoma State 5-11
Iowa State 4-12
Colorado 4-12

These standings are over-stated by 2 games, so two teams would end up with one less win.

missed kstate

I put them in a spreadsheet and it's easy to miss some...I'll update the kstate record
and these are based on last nights scores

i would be willing to bet that the teams at the top dont have as many wins and the teams at the bottom dont have as many losses.

He had k state going 13-3 before the loss a tech, so I would still bet even money that k state doesnt go 12-4. It could happen, but from a pure probability standpoint, its about 1 in 3 based on his probabilities.

Ken Pom does a great job of handicapping the individual games, but the way he projects the aggregate is wrong.
