What if we went with Big Joe, DJ, and Davis on the court at the same time? I realize that doesn't leave much on the bench as far as subs for the big men, but what if we threw that look out there for a few minutes a game. I think the Nebraska game would be a good time to try this out. They have a bit of height and aren't a real fast team. This look could really throw some people off by packing the paint on the defensive end, and great opportunities for a kick out to the three pointer and offensive boards. We couldn't run them all 3 out there very long, but a bit of confusion would ensue if they were put out there for a couple of minutes.

Sorry if this is ridiculous, but I'm in class and this is alot more interesting to think about.

I say do it in Austin and throw em off big time. Since they only have 1 1/2 players and all.... we could use our 2 guard to cover them

I think the sips would run us out of the gym if we put them out there in Austin. Slow, methodical teams would be a good opportunity to show this look.

We would have to play 2-3 zone D.

And JJones, forward, would have to play the wing on offense.

I don't know if it would be necessary, since we already dominate in the paint and on the boards with two bigs at a time. It also takes away one of our perimeter threats and ballhandlers which we have in shorter supply.

Letting DJ stay down low, and JJones or BDavis working the short corner with the other working from the wing down the high post when the ball is opposite of them would allow us to keep a decent spread. Perimeter deffenders would be working hard to help at the high post allowing nice drives and dishes with the kick out as a good option.

JJ has the best mid-long range jump shot, so He'd be the most viable threat in that sceneiro to play out.

not neccesarily, did you see the wisconsin vs tu game? they really struggled with a very big lineup that was really slow.

i don't think it would work, and don't know who you would do this against. davis is the only one that can guard any type of step out from a big man. if we were going to play zone it might work ok, but i think dj would be a huge liability defensively playing down low on a block. he cannot close out at all, and would be a disaster if the other team has someone who could shoot running the baseline.

The big problem would be the foul trouble that JJ gets in. If he gets a couple early then BD and DJ rack up a lot of minutes as well as Junior. Keep the same lineup and fine tune it for the tournament.

I think we should start JJ and Elonu on the post, BD at the 3, Bowles at SG, and DJ could bring the ball up...

Sorry, just being a jack-azz. I could see BD/JJ/DJ in at the same time for a triangle and 2 defense. A very short time, to stir things up.

We did it last season, if I recall, with AK / Marlon / JJ
