All of this whining about tu is frustrating me.

They are 19-4.
4 losses are:
semi-away @ Mich. St. (top ten)
Home against Wisconsin (top ten)
@ Missouri (full strength mizzou)
@ A&M

not one of those losses is remotely considered a negative. Maybe @ mizzou, but conf road wins are difficult to come by.

Our 4 losses:
@ Arizona (Not ranked)
@ tech (not ranked)
@ KSU (top 25)
Home vs Baylor (not top 25)

Our losses are easily worse than their losses.

Big wins:
tu has 2
neutral vs the real UT (top ten)
@ UCLA (top 5)

That's a road win against what many believe are a lock for a 1 seed.

Our biggest win is at Reed against tu.
The next best we have is neutral court against tOSU, a bubble team at best.

So yeah we beat them head to head, but it was AT REED, we were expected to win that game. So far this year, they deserve to be ahead of us in the rankings AND they damn sure deserve a better seed than us right now.

Now with that said, their next three are vs KU, @ BU, vs A&M. They could very easily go 0-3 in that stretch, and then I can guarantee you we will be viewed as the better team. But until then, please SHUT UP!!!

i hope they are ranked even higher to make our victory in austin even sweeter

The only thing I dont like is the fact that we had a bad stretch, played by far the worst basketball of the year, and have recovered. t.u. on the otherhand, is one of the most inconsistant teams in the nation, and it doesnt hurt them one bit.

Its like they are saying its ok to lose games, just not consecutively.

This next week and a half will be telling for them, as well as us.

Could we sticky this?

tu's best wins came in 2007. They are not playing nearly as well now as they were then. They do not deserve their ranking or a potential #3 seed.

They've got several more losses on the horizon that will knock them out of that, or they will start playing better and prove they belong. Either way, I think we both end up at a 4 or 5.

Intelligent analysis, rational thought and objectivity are not welcome on Texags....

I think it's also a matter of perspective.
Of course I was frustrated that texas came back against ISU, and I was frustrated that they eeked out a win on the road. But I have to realize that if that was the Ags, I'd be complimenting them on how they showed perseverence and toughness. But when it's texas, I don't see that side of it.

That said, I get the feeling that texas is not firing on all cylinders and that the team could implode at any second.
It could very well happen in their next 3 games.

I'm just going to try to not think about it. It reminds me a lot of how texas can often find ways to win games on the football field in the last few minutes. Frustrating.
But then again... perspective... the Ags eeked out wins in most of our games 2 years ago in football, and we all said that was a team with a lot of heart.

The Experts don't care about what might happen down the road. Rankings are just that, rankings of the best teams this year. No one knows what will happen, so you get ranked on what you've done so far....And so far they have done more than us.

that is exactly what they are saying, and it's true. It IS OK to lose a few games, but when you lose game after game after game, it looks like the team is falling apart, and it's hard to regain the voters trust after something like that.

if we beat OSU Saturday, that will be 6 wins in a row, and we will get that respect we lost earlier in the year. Keep in mind, these are only the second rankings to come out since that we haven't lost in that period, if we win again, that will be three and we will be that much more impressive

No, it can't be, tu is automatically overrated in every sport in the mind of many Aggies. Your facts, and thoughtful analysis are meaningless! Oh, and by the way, be sure and root for KU over tu tonight. Remember, that trophy that we get for tu losing to ________ (name random team on a particular night) is much more important than the Aggies have a shot at championship.

I know the experts only care about what has already happened, and I also know that tu had some very impressive noncon wins. It seems, however, they are lending more credence to what happened in November than what has happened lately. It's kind of the opposite of football, I guess.

Oh, I don't know, I guess I am still thinking of a little higher goal at this point. I know it is a longshot, and unlikely, but if we win out, we could still get a share of the league title. In order for that to be possible, KU must lose one more game first, and at tu is the best chance for that to happen.

If we take care of our business we will be in the top 4 of the league and get the bye.

Fair enough. I'm thinking that K-State and KU each having only one loss and K-State having the tiebreaker over us means our shot at a regular season Big 12 is remote, at best.

I'm more interested in finishing in the top 4 in conference and making a good run in in the B12 tournament to get a higher seed.

there is no tiebreaker for the reg conf title. you have co champs regardless of who beat who.

yes, tu losing helps, however, they can lsoe and still be in the top 4 as well.

It's begining to shake out that KU, KSU, tu and A&M will be the top 4, so we shouldn't have that as our highest goal.

KU will give KSU another loss.

In order for us to win the Big 12 we are going to need help and not lose games we should win...i.e. Texas Tech or Baylor. Honestly, with our talent and depth we should only have two in the L column. We have some huge games coming up which should let us know where we are at compared to the rest of the Big 12.

I agree with what you're saying; I guess I'm just wearing my dislike of tu on my sleeve AND hedging my bets in case we don't win out.

Also, I'd rather be the #3 seed and play Nebraska or OU in the second round than be #4 and play Baylor.

we beat them wehn we play them in week or so then there should be no issue.

just win. We just need a good seed in the tourney and that is it. Rankings now mean nothing. Just fun to look at and judge.

what you care calling strugling, some would call perservering and look at it in a good way. They're still winning, and that's what counts.

Polish, struggling is what TX did at ISU. Persevering is what A&M did at OSU. Get it straight.

I'm just saying, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Of course I want tu to struggle and lose every game they play, but if we were in their shoes we'd be singing a different tune.

Have you watched them play in conference at all? Tech is the only game they decidedly won.

Thats called struggling you t-sip appeaser. We may have gotten blown out 2 games, but we have had some dominating wins. They have one, against tech at home, everything else was just barely a win.

What i don't understand is why everyone wants them to punish Texas for winning close games. If we were punished in the polls for winning close games this site would have a meltdown. The polls do not take into account how you win. UT beat LSU by 2 but they moved up. LSU is terrible. They really do use the adage that a win is a win and I think that is how it should be.
