Our top scorer battled both tu and the flu for a great win. You could see when she came to the bench that she was totally exhausted. But when Blair asked her to play she never hesitated. Time and again the TV announcers would question how long she could play and then she would sink a three or intercept a pass. Two other points; first, this was the new tu coach's first time to lose three straight games in about 20 years - now that really is depressing and second, there was a growing number of students at the game- not great but getting better - thanks for making a 11:00 am game on a Saturday with great outdoor weather.

Actually Gant was our top scorer, she dominated the first half. 2nd half they came out to defend her and Takia stepped up. Thumbs up to both players who gave it their all.

The girl's played great as a whole. Reado gave us needed offense early, Buchanan did an admirable job relieving Micheaux who had one helluva move and battled the whole time she was there and Aqua was sensational.

Funny thing is, TK didn't want to practice the day before the game and didn't want to play. Coach told her to get out there and do it! Glad she did!

i didn't mean to be a typical texag poster starting an argument. I agree Takia showed heart last night but wanted to give Gant her due. She had 4 less points than tu did at half. They all played to win yesterday. That entire team plays with heart!

I am going to really miss Aqua next year. I am sure that Sydney and Tyra are going to be great, and losing Morinike and Patrice will hurt, but to me Aqua has and will be the on court symbol of taking this program from the depths of despair to the heights that it has achieved.

I didn't realize T-Kay had the flu but that explains a lot. Part way thru the game, I did mention to my husband that it looked like she didn't feel well.

That girl needs to boost her immune system - this is the 2nd time this season she has gotten sick. :-)

Still mystified why, after we clobbered them in the first half, we didn't keep our foot on the gas in the second half. We used the "time waste" offense (fool around until 10 sec left on shot clock and then move toward the basket) for most of the second half and very nearly lost it.

I agree Aqua will be missed. As Coach said, "Sydney scares me!"

Happy, you are correct about Aqua. She is the "Little Engine That Could". She will be a helleva high school coach.

I think Sydney did a great job yesterday - was very happy for her. She had one great drive and made 2 clutch free throws. She has shown flashes of brilliance with freshman mistakes thrown in. I think sometimes she just tries to do too much. She will learn to not always try to make the spectacular play when the good, solid play will do just fine. She always plays aggressive defense, which fits very nicely with our team philosophy. I think she plays much better defense than most freshmen!

I hope there is some way to keep up with our seniors after they graduate. It will be interesting to see the team that Aqua coaches. I'd drive a long, long way to watch that team play.

The flu has been BAD this winter.

Anyays, the Longhorns gave us trouble with their defense at times, and forced some sloppy moments, but, overall, it was a very good effort by the team. Starks and Gant both played very well and I love watching Aqua play.

Sydney did good too!

If only our guys could shoot free throws like the girls do.

I don't worry about posters, especially ANONYMOUS posters. He/she took a hit on TK and cleaned it up and then Sydney. The reps weren't there and if they were I am sure things would have been different. Unfortunately I didn't have a crystal ball but the important thing is that my daughter is happy and I will continue to support her and the team.

I saw much of the tu game, and I was impressed with the effort. Our women are talented and tough.

Got to see them in person for a change since I was in town. Loved Gant's mid air one-handed interception at mid court.

I admire your attitude sim! I am glad to hear that Sydney is happy here. I think she is going have a great career as an Aggie!

Why does it matter if sim is Sydney's dad?! Just saying what coach said!!! If playing as a freshman you don't have anything to learn, then good for you. But Sydney is like most freshman...has some things to learn!

Being a jerk and hiding behind "well, the coach said it" isn't really cool. I doubt if Coach Blair said it in the SAME CONTEXT that you did.

But, this is the internet and people don't always use common courtesy.

Inca it's all about my daughters happiness right now. This has been a long journey and I have met some great folks along the way, especially in College Station. By that same token, I have met some idiots and I have also had to deal with cowardly posters who I compare to guys that get drunk and want to pick fights, but when sober if you say boo they piss on themselves. I just take in stride and let them say whatever they want because it all boils down to "WHO ARE THEY" These dummies on the WHACKO board were talking about Bone not wanting to come to Baylor and they said some derogatory things about the kid. I am friends of th family and I said that wasn't nice. Those fooled banned me, called me a jackass, talked about my kid, called the girls on the team IGGIES and it was just shameful to have so much hate in their hearts for NO REASON.
