How long do you want to ignore this user?

Once I comment on a spot I get notifications of all new posts. Can this be stopped for individual post that I no longer want to see replies?

Yes, when you post on a thread, the system automatically bookmarks the thread for you. You can un-bookmark it by tapping/clicking the bookmark option at the start of the thread.

If you want to disable or configure this setting, you can do so with the Auto-Bookmark setting under Forum Settings in your Account Settings
