I clicked on the mailing list and entered my e-mail address, but it wouldn't take it. It claimed that the address is invalid.
For mailing lists, I don't use the basic form of my e-mail address. Instead, it is something like eric76+0631ta@example.com where the part after the plus is the current 24 hour time (0631 = 6:31 am, 1831 = 6:31 pm) followed by a character or two that is usually the initials of the site.
This way, if I decide to unsubscribe, but have trouble with it, I can just set all incoming e-mail to eric76+0631ta@example.com to be deleted upon arrival without notifying me.
I assume that it refused the e-mail address because of the '+' character, but the '+' character is a fairly standard character for e-mail addresses.
