Is there a way to use real dashes on the forum? My dashes are always removed it seems.

I can't think of a security reason why & m d a s h ;,and & n d a s h ; and their respective characters would not be acceptable. When copying from other websites or Word where correct dashes are uses, the forum strips the character.

You're right, there's no security reason to disallow them, and it's been that way for many years.

It boils down to complications we had with some legacy data storage methods and our new post editor. Those complications should be resolved now, but we haven't had a chance to re-allow those special characters yet and test it out.

We're actually aiming to readdress some of that in the coming weeks / months.
