I don't know if it's due to the ads again, or some other change, but I'm now seeing CPU activity spikes that interfere with page navigation. It basically freezes my client (Chrome) for several seconds while the CPU fan spins up to maximum and the CPU utilization graphs spike.

Do you know what pages this is occurring on?

Basically every page on the site. On both of my computers. Both are using Google Chrome.

Just open a long thread and start scrolling down, and you should see it. At some point it stops responding for several seconds before continuing.

Same issue here. Using Chrome. No problems on any other internet sites.
Started about 2 weeks ago.

edit: does not happen on my mobile devices where I use Safari for browser

Same thing. Just started within the past few days.

Open a thread and everything comes to a stop. Scrolling jumpy.. large pauses. Only on Texags.

I haven't been able to reproduce this yet. I'm thinking it might be a specific ad that's causing this.

Has anyone been able to tell if they see the same ad on the page when this happens?

Just had it happen on this page with a copy corner ad and some kind of soup ad (google ad, I think).

Just had it happen again with the same Soup Ad for "Soup Planet."

Been better this afternoon.

When/if it happens again, I'll note the ads.

It's happening right now on this page. There's an ad over on the right that looks like this:

If you stare at the page long enough, every so often is replaced by a full-motion video ad. There's one for Time Warner Cable, one for Chevrolet, and probably others.

During the time when you see the still image above, the CPU utilization spikes and performance degrades. The problem seems to be amplified if you've got TexAgs open in more than one tab.

I have temporarily solved the issue by installing the AdBlock Chrome extension. I'd prefer not to negatively affect TexAgs' ad revenues, so I will watch this thread to see if/when the problem is fixed.

Looks like the ad that is mentioned above is doing it. It is even effecting typing this reply.
