Repeatedly having to LOGIN issue

As of 10:45am, we have applied an update to the site that we believe will address the issue of repeatedly having to login. To receive the update, you will need to:

1. Logout
2. Login, checking the Remember Me option

After that, if you are asked to login on the same computer and the same browser, then please:

1. Go to: http://texags.com/help
2. Click on "Run Diagnostic Tests"
3. Confirm that Cookies Enabled is YES, and Private Browsing is NO

If you confirm the settings above are correct, and are still repeatedly asked to login (on the same computer and same browser). Please let me know via this thread.

I also keep getting logged off. The problem's happening on two iPads and an iPhone. I've confirmed that my settings are correct as requested above.

For some reason, it's not as simple to fix as just hitting Log On again. All that does is kick me to the TexAgs homepage, not the Log On screen. I have to go the Help page and clear the cookie before it will allow me to Log On again. Definitely something wrong with the way it's handling cookies.

Next time you get kicked off, before you clear the cookies, go to "Show Cookies" and tell me what is listed.

odd... with those cookies, you should still be logged in. try it again when you get kicked off, and please confirm that you have a "log on" link (instead of your username) in the upper right-hand corner of the page, when you select "show cookies"

When it happens, the link at the top right is Log On, not my username.

But now that I think about it, when I click on the Premium forum, it doesn't generate the usual "you're not logged in" message, so it may be a slightly different problem.

When it's acting up, clicking on the Premium forum redirects then kicks a 404 error. The resulting URL isn't the usual:

http://forums.texags.com/main/forum.topic.asp?forum_id=25

But instead it's:

http://forums.texags.com/main/forum.topic.asp%3Fforum_id%3D25

Typing that from memory, so it may be slightly off. Bottom line, it's replacing certain characters with their URL encoding equivalents. If I clear cookies and re-login, the problem goas away for a while.

interesting. still can't recreate it.

do you recall, does this typically happen after a good measure of inactivity, or are you clicking around on the site and it happens all of a sudden?

have you noticed it more when you click on a certain link?

Correction -- the 404 URL is:

It happens as I'm clicking around, no inactivity required. I've only noticed it when clicking on Premium, as that's the only subscription area I routinely access.

Cant login in now unless I am using my work computer. Went through the instruction above and now I can even login on my ipdad.

Prefer not use my work computer for TexAgs.

Work and home computer fine. iPad have to renter UN& PW every time. Ran diagnostics and cookies enabled but private browsing was no. Won't let me change any settings on iPad. Suggestions?

That would mean your iPad isn't storing any cookies. Is the header bar dark or light grey?

That means your browser is in "private" mode and that is why it will not automatically log you in.

If you turn it off, you should be good.
