I like to impress my friends and family with recipes I find on this board. I like elaborate recipes and have started to enjoy cooking in a Dutch oven. Any good Dutch oven recipes??

I made a paprika chicken last week that was a big hit with the whole family.

5-6 chicken thighs (thawed if frozen)

3 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

2-4 tsp paprika

1 tsp dry parsley (Or another leafy green herb)

1-2 tbsp olive oil

1 large chopped onion

1-2 tbsp minced garlic

2 cups white rice

3.5 to 4 cups chicken broth

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley. Heat oil in Dutch oven medium-high heat, and brown chicken thighs about 5-6 minutes on each side. Set aside. Saut chopped onions and garlic in the Dutch oven, in oil left from browning chicken, until onions are translucent. Add rice and broth to the onions and garlic. Bring to a boil. Turn stovetop heat off. Put chicken thighs back into the Dutch oven on top of the rice mixture. Cover with a lid and carefully put into the oven for 35-40 minutes. Sprinkle extra paprika on top for garnish. Fight for leftovers.

For Boy Scouts my son researched and found some good dutch oven recipes. Not necessarily elaborate, but really good.

Chicken Cobbler

2-3 cups Shredded or cubed Chicken
I package frozen mixed vegetables
1 cup diced onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
i can biscuits
Salt and pepper to taste
Rosemary
Paprika
Hot sauce

Heat dutch oven over stove or coals if camping.
Saute onions until translucent.
Add chicken, soup, salt, pepper, Rosemary, and paprika. Stir to combine.
seperate biscuits, and place on top of chicken soup mixture.
Replace top of Dutch oven, and place in oven at 400 degrees, or place 7 charcoal briquettes on top and bake for 35 minutes.
Season with hot sauce to taste.

Similar recipe for Dutch oven tater top casserole. Replace chicken with 1 pound ground beef, add one pack or can of green beans. Top mixture with frozen tater tots. Bake for 35 minutes. If desired sprinkle top with shredded cheese and replace top for 10 additional minutes.
Add hot sauce or soy sauce to taste.

Enjoy!

That's a fairly broad category. Are there particular things you want to cook?

I like cooking with chicken thighs. My wife likes roasts.

I like something that makes lots of juices that I can serve over rice.

Here's a variation on coq au vin. Coq au Riesling. It's a big hit and very easy.
