I've cooked/smoked on a Kamado Joe (egg) for years. I want to add a budget pellet grill to play on as well for overnight cooks. It's a want, not a need so looking for something budget friendly. WiFi access is the only thing I want for sure.

Any reccs/ suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I waffle back and forth all the time on getting a pellet for long cooks, but just keep plugging along with my BBQ Guru. Have you used a temp control on your Kamado?

Not budget friendly but if I ever go to a pellet it'll be a Pitts and Spitts or a Yoder. I think the Yoders are ugly but I can get one locally here over paying to ship a Pitts and Spitts

RecTeq seems to be the best budget friendly option.

Recteq now has one that will do high temp searing. Might be worth a look. If mine had that I would never use the others.

Hands down yes on Rec Teq as I had a Traeger for years and it was broke more than it worked. I love the high heat aspect and it holds temp so well. The thermometers are money as it cooks it to perfection. Did lobster tails on it last night and they were so darn good.

I sold my Kamando three years ago and bought a Lone Star Grillz. It was the best money ever spent. They are the opposite of a budget smoker, but might fit the bill if you decide to sell the Kamando and go all in.

A $3K pellet smoker? Wow.

I've got a yoder 640s, love almost everything about it. 100% American made, solid construction, and holds temps extremely well. I have a sear plate that reverses to a grill plate. I've smoked, seared & direct fire grilled with it. Everything turns out great (brisket, pork butts, pork ribs, chicken, salmon, ribeyes, beef ribs, smoked salsa, etc.). The only feature it is missing is not having an easy pellet cleanout from the hopper. For the price, that seems like a big miss.

It may be my fault for starting it, but OP is looking for a budget level pellet.

Recteq is the answer.

I dont think hes looking for a $2k+ cooker.

Yoder is made in Kansas... am I remembering that correctly?
