An Epicurean Tour of the French Provinces by Samuel Chamberlain. It's from the 1950s. A few years ago I picked it up from used book dealer.

The author takes the reader on a tour, much like the subtitle says. His sections on the wine regions are pretty neat. There's even recipes.

A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle is a great read. Very immersive into the culture and food. I highly recommend it.
