Glazed ham bone uses

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Baked a nice ham tonight and have a beautiful ham bone for cooking with. The issue at hand is we glazed it and my wife swears a glazed ham bone tastes funny in a pot of beans or pork stock.

So help me with ideas for what I can use a ham bone with a sweet glaze on it for. What might be complimented by the little sweetness it might bring to the party?

Baked beans? They are typically sweeter anyway.

No offense, but your wife is on crack. Glazing the ham puts sugar/honey/ect on the outer layer of the meat. It defiantly doesn't do anything to the bone or the inner meat that is left on the bone. I use them all the times, in pinto, baby lima, and others. Good luck with the beans, and the wife.

My guess is OP knows this but telling her she's wrong doesn't help. Definitely not speaking from experience.

We left the non-spiral sliced bits on the bone so whatever we cook with it has some meaning it too. I agree, btw. That little bit of sugar will do little to nothing to a pot of pintos or some such.

Have the bone from a Snake River Farms ham. I glazed my ham but the bone and remaining meat are free from glaze. Will be glorious in large white limas!

So....cut the glazed parts off?
