So a bunch of family coming into Aggieland for the game. I want to grab a few SAMs rotisserie chickens for dinner… I'm making twice baked potatoes, etc to go with it. Should we buy the chickens early and carve them up and refrigerate then reheat….OR buy at 4:00ish and keep them warm in a low oven… and carve when time to serve… 6:00???

Keep warm imo. Those things are sitting for hours already, another 2-3 won't hurt

Food board triggering opinion: put them in a crockpot for some reason

We buy rotisserie chickens from the grocery store fairly often for dinner. To me, there is no comparison between keeping it warm and eating it versus putting it in the refrigerator and reheating later. If you can keep it warm, it would be preferred. Not bad reheating, just not quite the same.

Definitely keep them warm. If you have the time, split them and put them under a broiler to crisp up the skin.

Covered in random amounts of soy sauce, ginger and banana ketchup. Served with 2 cups of rice.

I would buy some raw chickens and put them in the oven at 4 to serve at 6.

Like THIS. EDIT: I do ~20 min/lb. of bird at 325. Turn on the broiler at the end if you want to crisp up the skin. It's as easy as hitting the floor with your hat.

The sams ones are cheaper than a whole raw bird at heb and sams does a pretty good job.

This. As much as I enjoy roasting my own whole bird with my own seasonings, those darn rotisserie birds are a bargain and hard to beat. Not bad leftovers for the two of us.
