Headed there in a couple weeks for the S Carolina game. Anyone have places they'd suggest we check out?

Lots of threads on this but we ate at:

Fancy

Husk
Prohibition
SNOB
Church and Union
82 Queen

Casual

Callie's Hot Little Biscuit
Bay Street Biergarten
Charleston Beer Works
Fleet Landing

Bar

Big John's Tavern
The Griffon

Highly recommend all of them. My catfish lunch at SNOB was one of the best meals ever. And you can't go wrong with shrimp and grits anyplace around town.

ETA: I recommend making reservations at the fancy places.

167 Raw is hands down the best damn lobster roll I've ever eaten.

SC Cup oysters - fantastic.
Oven roasted oysters - fantastic.

It was our last night in town and pouring rain. We went to order a roll to go because we didn't have a reservation and didn't want to wait 1.5 hours. a 2 top cancelled when we arrived, as I was placing my to-go order online. It was meant to be.

There was a place we didnt sit and eat at but got to go their Coconut Cake which if you like you have to get...if I can remember the name i will edit Pennisula Grill

Obstinate Daughter is outside the Historic Distirct but if you have an auto is another i would try

167 Raw's Paloma is also great and their oyster selection is incredible given their location

Isn't that where John Lewis opened a BBQ place? Might want to consider that if I'm remembering correctly.

Maybe as a snack in between meals

I wouldnt waste a meal in Charleston with low country cusine to eat transplanted Texas BBQ. No offense as I can get that anytime in Texas vs 50 or so places that are top notch that are more to the Carolina faire...if you want to try Carolina style BBQ with more vinagar based then that at least would appeal more to try

Just my opinon

Rodney Scott's was alright (and highly rated) but nothing on a hog can compare to brisket.

FIG (best all around by far)
Obstinate Daughter (on Sullivan's Island - if you've got a car and can get a res, don't miss it)
Chez Nous (if you are adventurous - 2 apps/2 entrees/2 desserts, different every night, incredibly popular)
Vern's
Leon's Oyster Shop (for oysters and fried chicken strangely enough)

Hall's Chophouse (if you really need a steak)

The Ordinary or 167 Raw (fresh/raw seafood/oysters)
