My Whirlpool wine fridge bit the dust a few weeks back and I need a replacement. Max storage of around 40 bottles is fine and I only drink red wine, so I don't need a dual zone. I don't have space constraints, but I would like to keep it under $400. What's a good option? I've looked on Amazon, but there's too many options.

bought this one about 6 months ago and it's worked fine. no complaints so far. Only 34 bottle max, though.

If you're looking for something to hold 40 bottles, you will want a 60-75 bottle capacity. Like tents and gun safes, wine fridges never hold as many bottles as they say they will.

We got the Hisense 54 bottle from Lowe's and currently have 56 bottles in it. But like Htown said, it can be variable. I can keep larger bottles in a separate fridge in the house so that's how I keep this one packed. I could see where this would hold around 42-48 if we had all large bottles in it. This is also a built-in unit.

What about the 61 bottle unit from Best Buy's Insignia line? Anyone have luck with those?

A big consideration is if it will be built into cabinetry. If so it needs to vent to the front. If not a standard free standing one will work.

Free standing is fine because it won't go under a cabinet.

I just removed an old (broken) trash compactor from under the counter, with the intent of replacing it with a wine cooler. Unfortunately, I'm not finding many options for a 15" x 33.5" space. Found an "EdgeStar" brand unit, but $800 seems a bit much for a cooler that small. Anybody have experience with something like that?

I did a lot of research and wasn't enthused by any of the options that are below the really premium tier. I ended up going with this model: N'FINITY S Single Zone Wine Cellar

It was about $1,100 delivered when I bought it but it looks like it might not be on the Wine Enthusiast site anymore, that's where I got it. I've been happy with it so far.

It looks just like this but I'm not sure if it's a rebrand or if there are actual differences

That looks like a good size for an undercounter unit. I think my options are just going to be very limited with my narrow opening. It was a pretty oldschool compacter, not like the bigger ones I see nowadays.

Oh dang didn't see your post. Yeah I'm no help on a 15"er. I'd check Costco and Wine Enthusiast.

Only $100 cheaper than the one you found but it does have the Costco warranty which is nice.

Only $250 but you may get what you pay for. Relatively low risk though:

Both good suggestions, thanks! A few more options to research, definitely more comfy buying from Costco.

I went with this one from Costco. Just the right size, good features with the dual zone, and looks nice. Installed and chillin'.

Thanks for the suggestion!
