Howdy, I know for a fact that asking for a Crockpot recipe on Food and Spirts is a travesty!!!! However, as an OLD, please be kind and gimme what you got. DO NOT want to stand and stir in the kitchen all day. Thanks and Pray for me!

So you want a recipe for lasagna soup?

But seriously lasagna is pretty easy and doesn't take all day. Plus I would imagine the prep time is about the same for a crock pot recipe.

Do not make lasagna in a crock pot. You'd be better off using decent jarred sauce if occasionally stirring a pot is too much.

You would be better off buying a frozen HEB Family Size Meat Lasagna.

Just don't try to cook it in the crockpot.

The biggest problem with crock pot lasagna is that you won't get the delicious and slightly crispy top

Please don't do this. By the time everything is cooked, the pasta will have turned to mush. You won't get any browning of the cheese on top, and lasagna needs to be cooked at a higher temperature than a crock pot gets to so you get some evaporation.

Buy the best jarred sauce you can, add some browned up Italian sausage to it, and follow the directions on the back of the Skinner pasta no-bake lasagna noodles box. It will be magnitudes better than any recipe for crock pot lasagna.

I guess you could brown the meat and make the sauce in a crock pot, but making the actual lasagna in a crock pot is a terrible choice

Costco carries an excellent brand of prepared Italian dishes, Rana brand. We've had a couple of their lasagnas, Italian sausage and short rib the other night was great. Comes out good in a microwave or oven.

I believe as someone previously posted, HEB's frozen lasagna is pretty good in a pinch. I grew up on Stouffer's and I think theirs is better.

I can't imagine the condensation drip from a crockpot lasagna but if it turns out well for you please share.

I think the most simple straightforward answer is that Lasagna can't be made in a crockpot therefore there is no best recipe for it

What's the reasoning for cockpot lasagna?

I would go the route of HEB stuffed shells (frozen section), top with browned hot Italian sausage and Classico sauce. I've done this is in a pyrex and it's quite good, seems like a crockpot might work OK.

The fact that you can supposedly throw it together in the morning, let it cook all day, and have lasagna when you get home from work for a weeknight meal. And there are tons of recipes for it online, which is a sad reflection on us.

But you still have to throw it together.

That's the most time consuming part of lasagna and the crock pot doesn't eliminate that process.

Max this sounds good. What size pyrex, cooking time and temp? Would prefer to do in the oven. Thanks for the recipe.

7x11 or 8x8 pyrex, not a 9x13. Put a splash of sauce on the bottom so shells don't stick.

A bag of HEB shells is typically 8, so if you're feeding a crowd you'll want 2 bags.

12oz of hot (or sweet) Italian sausage, browned. I've also used links, cooked and cut into bite sized pieces.

Top with a large jar (24oz?) of your favorite spaghetti sauce. I prefer Classico. Can also top with parm or pizza cheese blend if that's your jam.

375F for ~40 minutes if the shells were straight from the freezer. Maybe 25-30 minutes if shells are thawed.

So if the OP or anyone else truly wants to make a crockpot lasagna, it looks there are plenty of recipes posted on Pinterest. I've never made a lasagna of any kind so I have no opinion of going that route.
I am not the Six Million Dollar Man, but I might need that surgery. "We have the technology, we can rebuild him!"

It's helpful when people answer the actual question, not suggest things you didn't ask for. Here's one I use in a pinch.

Search for "Taste of Home Slow Cooker Lasagna." I definitely recommend using a liner (I double up) in the crock pot. I use canned diced Italian tomatoes, and there is no need to use "no boil" or "no cook" lasagna noodles. The tomatoes provide plenty of moisture to cook the noodles nicely. I just break the standard length noodle in half to assemble the layers in the confines of an oval crock pot. I add mushrooms, seasoned ground beef, lots of garlic, and Italian seasoning. Set it and let 'er rip. I use a large metal spoon to cut through the layers and portion it out for serving. Let the haters hate. Nothing wrong with a crock pot. They're in nearly every kitchen in America for a reason. They're convenient, and they work for busy people
