Went to Pappasito's last week, and I was underwhelmed. The beef fajita taco was good, but the enchilada, rice, beans, and salsa were all bland. Everything needed a hefty dash of salt.
pappasitos is only good for their beef fajitas imo

lived in Houston all my life but rarely go to Pappasitos - its always just been 'okay' and seems like youve just got a 50/50 shot at getting your car window broken and rummaged through

Pappasitos and Ninfas are the same. Great fajitas and everything else is meh.

See, I thought the enchiladas at Ninfa's were usually pretty good. But no one has come close to Lopez Mexican Restaurant in Houston. It's not a chain, so it's not really a part of this thread.

They have two locations so they can be mentioned! Still never been there but need to rectify that.

El Tiempo, Washington Ave is the best imo,, then Pappasitos. Javajaws, I do like me some pappasitos, but not sure on if i could go as far as to say their chicken fajitas are better than el tiempo, but I would rank them a close second.

El Tiempo is really good.

Yes, you should fix this problem asap! I'll need to keep this in mind next time I'm in the area. Had no idea they had a restaurant in Richmond now.

If 2 locations qualifies as a mentionable chain - how do we feel about Sylvia's enchilada kitchen.

Uncle Julios is our go to Mexican chain. Very similar to pappasitos.

I haven't been in years, but it was always solid. I used to work near the original location and was a regular. Outstanding chile gravy. Great warm salsa refilled from a coffee pitcher.

Same people who have Gringo's, I think? We love Gringo's in CS. Not the same as downtown Bryan Tex-Mex but pretty good for what it is. Better than Chuy's.

I do love Pappasitos but we always get the mixed fajitas and they are consistently great. And that whipped butter sauce…

Chuy's news: starting 10/28, Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken and Green Chile Rice are back on the menu.

This piqued my interest, so I had to check.

It's close, but Lopez is in Houston.

Stafford's deepest boundary ends around Brighton Lane and 59. No part of Wilcrest -- where Lopez is located -- is in Stafford and a portion of Murphy Road (which turns into Wilcrest) isn't, either.

The other Lopez is in Richmond (off 99).

Oldtimers like me still call it stafford
Houston was not close 25 years ago. Dis you ever go to the original Lopez up Wilcrest a few blocks?
