Is the Yoder smoker worth spending an extra $1800 on compared to the Lyfe Tyme? I am looking at purchasing either the 20x32 Lyft Tyme or the Yoder Witchita.

I don't like the way the chimney attaches to the Yoder.

I wish for a detachable chimney every time I try to get the cover condom part to go on it, especially with that nipple sticking out of the damper.

I found out the hard way that the bolt holding the damper in place is welded underneath. Applied a bit of torque to it and snapped it right off.

I want the chimney to have an air tight connection to the smoker. While there's debate in the bbq community about how tall a chimney should be, everyone I've heard has maintained it should be an airtight connection to maintain integrity in air flow

I have no experience with those brands, but I just put a deposit down for a Blue Smoke smoker. I was also considering Mill Scale and Lone Star Grillz but Blue Smoke has a $1,700 base price for nearly identical specs on the size I need. They are going up to $2,100 base in a few days so take a look quick. Super great guys to work with as well

Yoder doesn't make cheap smokers, that's a surprising detail that I never noticed before on their website. Looks like they do that to all their smokers from the pellet grills all the way up to their towing rigs. I can't tell what the exhaust looks like on the units with a vertical chamber. Would want to see in person or maybe call them to see why they do that when it doesn't seem to fit with their price point. Good eye for spotting that detail.
