Anyone know of any great places in Edinburgh, Scotland to eat or get good drinks at? Or ANYWHERE in Scotland? My family and I are going to Scotland this Thursday for a couple of weeks and we'll be in Edinburgh for 2 days at the beginning and 2 at the end of the trip and we're also going to Inverness, Glencoe, Isle of Skye and the rest of the Highlands so if any Ags have any suggestions for food or good drinks somewhere please post them! Thanks!

A buddy of mine swears that the best meal he ever had in his life was at The Kitchin in Edinburgh, and he is quite the foodie. Didn't make it to Edinburgh on my most recent Scotland trip, but it sounds like it is worth checking out if you don't mind spending a bit more for a nice meal.

There's a small bar in The Balmoral called Scotch that is worth going to if you like whisky.

Their scotch list is massive and probably the biggest whisky list you'll ever see. I generally don't care for proper scotch and found some really nice ones there.

The kitchen and rocpool in Inverness are both really good meals, would definitely recommend trying to make a reservation at both.

The mustard seed is one that was recommended as the best in Inverness but couldn't manage to get in.

The bramble in Edinburgh

The Sheep's Heid Inn. Oldest continually operated pub in Scotland. Good food and drinks.
