Big beer fan. Been told not to drink carbonated drinks for 2 weeks post oral surgery. Ive made it a week and a half, but it's MDW and I am supposed to go to a social gathering. I obviously can just suck it up and not have anything, but was curious if anyone knows of specific beers or brands that are not carbonated. Google appears to confirm they exist, but getting exact beers or brands seems to be difficult. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Jared

I can't think of any. I would just batch up some cocktails and drink that instead.

Can't imagine being so desperate for beer that I would drink intentionally flat beer, especially when there is so much other tasty booze out there.

Not looking for flat beer… as mentioned there apparently are beers now made without carbonation.

If you can find it English cask ale does not have carbonation.

Still beer is few and far between. Just switch to wine or liquor if you need a fix.

Uncarbonated beer is flat beer, also called still beer. Call it what you want, it just doesn't sound all that appealing.

Another thing to note is that even flat or still beer likely has some amount of carbonation as a result of the fermentation process, so if you're supposed to avoid carbonation altogether this might not best for you.

I can only think of one brewery with still beer off of the top of my head, and they only do it in limited quantities and I highly highly doubt that that distribute it.

Still beers are such a specialty style, that they are probably best enjoyed for what they are, not as an alternative when carbonated beer isn't an option. Additionally, I'm willing to bet money that they are not very easy to get. Something that would be easier if you need your fix in the 2 week period that you can't have carbonated beer would be to switch wine or liquor, as others have suggested.

Primitive in Denver does still beer.
They sell it in cardboard boxes like box wine.
I have one in my fridge right now, it's a beer wine hybrid.
Liberati in Denver did oenobeers, which had a few styles that were still.

OP, these are a highly niche style; you may find one or two places in your beer meccas that have them, but that's it.

Even nitro beers aren't 100% nitrogen. They are typically dispensed with beer gas, a 70/30 blend of nitrogen and co2.

but it's a fraction of co2 compared to say a soda.
