whatever beer you like that you can drink fast.

froth it up when pouring into the pitcher to keep the carbonation lower when drinking.

I have no idea when it started, but it was in full swing when I was I go to a&m. I dunked my ring in 1999, so its not that "new army."

Nitrogen over carbonation helped. You can find a few beers canned like this at Specs.

Don't be one of those "dudes" that pours Michelob Ultra three days prior and stirs it hourly.

Folks were doing this when I was there in 96. I didn't do this because it's a waste of beer but I enjoy the pageantry involved.

It was a tradition in the late 80's with a 64 ounce pitcher for a$1.75 at the Chicken.

Back when I worked at the chicken we'd go through more than 100 cases of glass pitchers on ring days back in 90-91. We would sell you the pitcher you used for $5.00 back then.
It was well established as a tradition long before that.

I remember some guy tipped me $20 to pour a pitcher of lone star the night before and leave it in cooler for when he came back to dunk his ring.
