I never order BLT out, but it is a favorite at home. Unfortunately, I never seem to have tomatoes when I want one, so it is a rarity.

My favorite home sang is sausage, egg and cheese on buttered toast with siracha.

Or any leftover steak, pork, chicken sauteed with onions and mushrooms, topped with cheese and made into a makeshift philly.

I'm from the Valley, neither I nor my Latina wife have ever understood the derivation of "sangwich" - even through her brother and dad used it.

I've always heard it from my Valley and El Paso buddies.

I think the Cubans use it too -- "Sangwish".

Hummus, avocado, cucumber, tomato, lettuce on toasted ciabatta
Falafel patties, crumbled feta, pickled red onions, cucumbers, leaf lettuce on sourdough
Turkey, swiss, lettuce, honey mustard on a pretzel roll

I only eat BLTs in August and September with my tomato harvest. The leftover bacon fat is used to toast the bread. Pretty damn good if you ask me, but it's not an every day top 10.
