Not to say it's a bad product, but the ingredients in that marinade are definitely helping make the crust look better. Sugar, etc caramelizing.

Was about to post the same thing. That sear in the video was a product of the brown sugar in the marinade.

I assume the point is that it is done in half the time because you preheat the top weighted plate, but so what if it is four minutes instead of eight. How many minutes to clean those things?

Good idea in practice. I accomplish the same thing with two cast iron pans preheated in the grill (although they aren't as large as this thing).
