Just got back from a Napa trip and we hooked up with Mike and Val Thompson who own and operate Thompson 31Fifty winery. I found out about them through the Spirit Magazine when they covered Aggie vintners.

Great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. What a great visit. If you are out there give them a call.

We will go back and visit them every time we are out that way.

Tell us more about the Chardonnay?
As far as reds go, I'm always in search of good Zinfandel.

For a good Zin, you might check out Seghesio.

The Russian valley produces some nice Chardonnay. I'm not a white wine fan, but Kistler makes one of the best Chardonnays.

It is one of the best Chardonnays that I have had. It is not buttery at all. Very refreshing. As far as Zins go I like the ones from Hamel. Although I am not a big zin guy. I prefer Cabs, Malbec and Sangiovese.

Another really good Chardonnay is Alpha Omega. That's like my favorite winery. I spend way too much there.
