We've been drinking a lot of painkillers lately.

Two parts dark rum (I like Appleton for this)
Three parts pineapple juice
One part orange juice
One part coconut cream

Shake with ice and strain into a glass of fresh ice. Top with ground nutmeg. It's more than a couple of ingredients, but there is nothing hard to find in the recipe. We have most of it on hand all of the time.

Martini...it's not my favorite cocktail, but it's fast and easy.
Drop a castelvetrano olive in the bottom of a martini glass (with just a little bit of juice from the spoon I used to get the olive out of the jar). Cover olive (just) with fresh dry vermouth (I like Dolin or Rivata). Add an inch or so of ice cold gin (I store in freezer), to taste. If I'm splurging I like The Botanist or Roku...if being cheap I like Bombay East or Tangueray Rangpur. Give it a stir and enjoy (keeping my gin in the freezer saves me the trouble of using a shaker with ice, and there's less dishes to wash). Sometimes I add a dash or two of Angostura or other bitters.

If whiskey is more your thing, a Rusty Nail is quick and easy, and although it is traditionally made with Scotch, I'm not shy about making it with Bourbon or whatever I have on hand.

For super easy "cocktails" while traveling, I often take a bottle of Hochstadter's Slow and Low (their rock and rye). It's like a cocktail in a a bottle. It's a bit sweet for me, but I'll add more whiskey if I have that with me as well.

"Cocktail" is defined as "an alcoholic drink consisting of a spirit or several spirits mixed with other ingredients, such as fruit juice, lemonade, or cream."

This does not meet the definition for a cocktail, and thus is disqualified from competition.

Nothing quicker (and better) than this. Just add your booze. The Black Swan Saloon is in Deep Ellum & Gabe is always on the best Bartender & Bar lists. He's been closed since "The Covid" & "The Looting" - you can like the FB page or follow on Instagram to see what the current offerings are. He'll ship, too. Great guy & this is helping him thru these "uncertain times". https://www.facebook.com/Black-Swan-Saloon-169324569757974/

Spaghett

1 Pilsner beer
1 oz. Aperol
Splash of lime

Good drink that turns beer into a refreshing sweet and sour cocktail. Classic recipe calls for Miller High Life but any pilsner beer works (I use Ultra to keep the calories down).

Love the spaghet but it's lemon not lime and my summer drink is Ranch Water

Put ice in glass
Squeeze half a lime over the ice
2 parts tequila or vodka
1 part orange liqueur
Top off with topo Chico
Garnish with a lime
Don't stir

Your glass size determines the strength and you can add more topo if you find the bottom to strong

Ranch water.

2oz tequila, 1/2 lime juiced, over ice, fill Pint glass with topo Chico (or club soda/seltzer water).

I like to add a pinch of salt and pepper over the top.

Just saw keepers version. Makes it a tad sweet but no doubt is solid too.
Staff - take out the trash.

Yes, most recipes call for lemon juice but I always prefer lime over lemon. Doubt it would make a significant difference though.

But High Life is the champagne of beers and ultra is the white claw of beers.

The Negroni is equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. There's tons of recipes that take this 1:1:1 ratio, and either swap out ingredients (swapping rye with the gin gives you the Boulevardier), or just alter the ratio. The very basic 2 parts booze, one part sour, one part sweet is the basis for hundreds of cocktails.

ETA: if you're going to use a syrup/sugar for the sweet, change the ratio to 2:3/4:3/4 to keep the drink from getting too sweet.

Ranch Waters are the summer go-to for me with a heavy squeeze of lime. Although, lately, I have taken a liking to Sotol rather than a good tequila In my RWs. I like Desert Door brand lately. Adds a little more of a floral/earthy flavor and just as delicious. I heard someone compare Sotol as a Mexican Gin and I like the comparison.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

Caipirinha:

Muddle sugar and lime
Add Cachaa (I like Leblon) and ice
Shake well in a cocktail shaker, pour

Simple and delicious
