Anyone cooked on a stand-up rotisserie versus a horizontal rotisserie?

I was watching a video earlier of someone making shawarma.

Do you have to use a vertical rotisserie to make it?

Does it make that much of a difference if the fat is rendering and the juices are flowing down vertically instead of horizontally?

Would you recommend one rotisserie over the other?
