Yeah Yeah I know it's cheating and not the real thing but with the kitchen going through remodel it's the only appliance I have and minimal work is a must.

why not use the saute function for the browning and what not and the low saute for the simmer part, put the lid on but leave the vent open. Ground meat chili only takes like 40 minutes start to finish, Leave the pressure part out of the equation.

If using canned beans release steam then add for final hour of cooking

He said chili. Not beef stew with fish sauce.

That doesn't look so easy to do with no kitchen.

I'm going to bookmark that because it does look good but I'm looking for a dump and cook recipe.

This no kitchen business is driving me crazy. I've got just a sauce pan and a skillet, no sink to wash anything, one burner on the grill, an instant pot, a sous vide, and a pack of paper plates and bowls.

Think of a recipe you could do while camping and that's what I need. None of that cook your chilies in a pan and put them in a bowl then blend them, then sear your meat in a skillet then transfer it in the pot.

Sounds good but not really what I'm going for.

This is the recipe that is on the back of the Gebhardt chili bottle that I grew up with, I will write it so you can use the instant pot and pre diced ingredients from the store.

Set your instant pot to saute high. When it is hot, add in 1lb of ground meat and 1 cup of diced onion. Cook until the meat is brown.
Add in 1 crushed clove of garlic, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon comino, tsp salt and pepper and cook till fragrant.
Add in 1 29oz can of tomato sauce, set the instant pot to saute low and simmer with the lid on and vent open for 20 minutes.
Add in 1 can drained red beans and cook till heated through about 5 minutes

Very good and easy one pot chili
