So I recently moved and some boxes with parts of my collection got tucked away and froze solid. Some of the bottles popped the cork completely out, while others weren't phased.

Short of drinking it all, is there anything I can do to save it?

Excluding other factors like oxidation, etc., does freezing wine negatively affect it? Also, how cold did it have to get to freeze with alcohol in it?

It got down to -10 or -15

If the corks didn't move, it may be ok. Give it a week or so to settle down, and I would drink it within the next six months if possible. But if you have multiple bottles of something, open it and try it. If it's ok, the rest are probably ok.

So happy that is in rear view mirror.

Luckily most of the bottles that popped corks were either cheap or something I can get locally. I was worried about my bottles that were made my birth year, but they were fine.

I guess I'll be doing some drinking soon though

That's not that cold . It can get around -40 here and down to -85 a bit further north

Siberia??? I remember watching a deal a couple weeks ago that schools don't close at some small village unless the temp hits -50. They apparently regularly get to - 80 or colder in the winter.

Update for those that are interested. Out of all my bottles that froze, only 3 popped the corks out. I was able to put the corks back in while the wine was still frozen and then slowly thawed them out. Drank all of them tonight, and to my surprise, they were just fine.

Yes we can buy wine, but good stuff isn't cheap. Most of my good bottles were purchased overseas when I was traveling a lot for work. In all the times I went through customs (~50+) I was only checked twice. Once for an abundance of cheese and chocolate (I may have had some pata negra too) and the other because the dog hit on my bag (I forgot an orange). If they only knew how many bottles of booze I really had in there I'd be on a list.

I'm on the Kenai peninsula, so it doesn't get too crazy cold like Fairbanks or Barrow, but it's been in the minus teens quite a bit so far this winter.

10% abv liquid freezes at about 25 degrees.
20% abv liquid freezes at about 20 degrees.
40% freezes about -17.

Everclear or pure ethanol (~95%abv) freezes at -173.
