I can't drink anymore, but when I did $20 was fancy for me.
quote:I would disagree with you. the Geyserville is annually one of the best bargains at $33 per bottle in the world of wine. you say "their zin" but they make several. most are field blends that are usually less than 75% zin so aren't called zin.
Ridge,really?!
My reps are trying to push it pretty hard atm, had their zin yesterday and the chard last week. I don't see it......it's not bad, but it's not that good imo.

I have never tried a white from them. what do they make?
quote:I buy a lot of wine from WTSO, and BSD is correct you must be choosey. Here is my advice:
not all are winners, that's for sure. But it never hurts to keep a watch on it and cherry pick.
(note: I haven't bought from them in years so I'm not sure what they are selling these days. My worst ever wine mistake was not buying Petrus at $400 from them during the recession)

Investing in a variety of high quality wine glasses and a good wine fridge has done wonders for my enjoyment of wine.

Buy online.... ~40% off your $35 number.

I enjoy the Orin Swift "Locations" wines. They are all well under $50
quote:Unless this was some charity event, there's no way a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle Cab was $160 at a restaurant. Even with an insane markup, it shouldn't of been more than $45-50.
I paid $160 for a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle at a restaurant once. I thoroughly enjoyed the cab, so I decided to pick up a bottle from the store the next day. For $15 you can have a bottle of one of the finest cabernets out there.
