We are about to start planning a kitchen remodel. We are going to get the basic appliances, but we are looking for a double wall oven (obvious reasons if you have seen any of my previous posts), a 5-6 burner cook top (gas), and a hood for the cook top. Viking or Wolf probably aren't in the budget unless we can find a great deal. Any reviews on any appliances much appreciated.

GE Monogram ranges are a great stove for the money.

Don't be disappointed the Viking's out of your range. I had one and it sucked. Wolf and Thermador are the standard bearers now. Viking is living on name recognition more than quality now days.

The house we have now has a Bosch dishwasher put in by the previous owners. Very quiet - we've got an open kitchen and can run it while watching a movie across the room and won't hear it. Wife demands one at next home.

Having a Bosch dishwasher has been fabulous. Aggieland water is rotten on crystal, glassware, etc. With my Bosch - water spots, glazing are no longer a problem. I use the Express cycle (30 minutes) almost always since I pre-rinse. Quick and quiet.

Good to hear about the Bosch dishwasher as I'm about to have one and I can't stand hearing the dishwasher run.

Not to hijack your thread, but I am also about to be the proud new owner of a Bertazzoni dual fuel range and was wondering if anyone has experience with that brand. The builder is really selling the Bertazzoni as a huge "free" upgrade and it certainly looks nice, but I have seen some very mixed reviews online. Any first hand experiences?

Check out craigslist, I went through this and was going to drop a small fortune on Range/DIsh/Fridge.

I ended up finding my $12k range for $2500 brand new still on the crate and pretty much the same for the dishwasher and fridge.

I didn't care about matching brands so ended up with a viking fridge, thermador range and a DCS double drawer dishwasher -- which btw is something to think about

I know CL is not as popular in Tex as Cali and I am sure all my stuff is probably stolen but ended up spending around 25% of what we would have ..

Hot appliances. Nice.

+1 on Bosch DW

We have a Maytag double oven but it's pushing 20 years old. Everything still works though. Ended up with Maytag because the previous oven died 2 days before Thanksgiving with 20+ people coming over. It's also 24" so that limited our choices at the time.

I have a KitchenAid 5-burner gas cooktop. I love it. My only complaint is that if you're using one of the larger burners in the front with a larger skillet, you can't use the smaller burner behind it unless you have a really small pot.

The 20,000 btu in the middle burner kicks booty though.

We ended up going with KitchenAid appliances because we got a great price on them.

Among the appliances we got, we got a 6 burner gas slide-in cooktop and the new model of the double wall oven with convection in both ovens. Sears price matched an insider website that we have access to without even double checking the prices.

Now we just have to get the cabinets in.

I feel it is best to spend your money on a good oven rather than a stovetop. You are buying better insulation for better temperature control. We have a Fisher /Paykel dishwasher dual drawer . 10 years with one repair that truthfully was difficult to schedule and was expensive.

We built last year and went with Electrolux Icon. Double oven, 6 burner stove etc. The look and functionality is great. At the end of the day after rebate it was about 8k less than wolf, sub zero. For the price it was definitely worth it. If you are remodeling it may be worth a look at the ind fridge and freezer combo as well. It takes up some space but by far gets the most comments. In the end really happy with it.

Just bought a Bosch 800 series. I thought it wasn't working because I couldn't hear it. Finally RTFM and found that the red led spot on the floor means it's running.

What about Blue Star ranges? Does anyone have any experience with them?

Agree with previous posts regarding Bosch dishwashers. I can watch a movie 15 ft from mine without hearing it. Still recommend a water softener if you have hard water.
