Everyone has their accouterments for them. Mine for tomorrow's brunch are: clam juice, asiago stuffed olives, garlic cloves, bacon, capers, jalapeños, sun dried tomatoes, traditional olives, salt pepper, and celery.

Anything else we should put out for guests?

Some people put Tabasco sauce. It sounds like you have about everything else.

Oh, and I have seen places in New Orleans that also had pickled green beans. I don't know how common that is. I think it was mostly one restaurant / bar that did that.

I use Ripe Pure Squeezed San Marzano Bloody Mary Mix. This mix is refrigerated. MXR Essentials Bloody Mary mix is my second favorite.

I like the one at Mad Hatters, it comes out of a gun, no idea what's in it.

I like to substitute tabasco/hot sauce with Sriracha.

Other ingredients I like to use often that I haven't already seen mentioned:

Lemon
Tony Chacheres
Beef jerky
Worcestire (sp?) sauce

Pickled green beans are the shizz. I can eat about half a jar of those things with one bloody mary. Bacon strips are really good to. If you get beef jerky, make sure you get the kind that can be used as a straw. Looks like this....

It sounds like many of you are in the same boat as me...I enjoy a good salad in my bloody mary. The more stuff, the better.

BK - have you tried all three Leffe beers? The blonde can be had in TX, try the Tripel and Brun as well.

I'm more of a fan of Pelforth - try the Brun for sure.

Possible Adders for me would be;

Lemon
Horseradish
Worcestershire
A creole seasoning for the glass
Tobasco Sauce
Bull Shot or Beef stock/bouillon

Usually make ours from scratch, but zing zang is the best tasting mix I've ever had.

Zing Zang

I also like to add some habanero based hot sauce if I have any, but I have a high tolerance to heat. I made a habanero hot sauce and added it to my chili once. About damn near killed my wife and I couldn't tell a difference. Until the next day, anyway.

The end-all-be-all of bloody marys can be had at The Republic in College Station.

They muddle Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes with habaneros to start. Not sure what else, but it is absolutely fantastic.

What comes out of the gun is just the tomato juice. If I am remembering right, they add the following: Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, celery salt, Tabasco to taste and the pickled green beans. Yum!

The best bloody mary i ever had was 2 parts BM mix 1 part orange juice and lots of vodka. it sounded like an abomination to me, but at first sip i was hooked. it also used siracha for heat and it worked so well with the OJ. sounds crazy, drinks like a charm.

Bloody Mary: best I've ever had by far.

8-10 sweet 100 tomatoes
3/4 oz Worcestershire
3/4 oz dirty Tony's olive juice
pinch of cilantro
pinch of smoked sea salt
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz lemon juice
muddle everything above

add 1 1/2 oz spicy vodka, shake and strain, salt rim (optional)

Today I used Tito's, Zing Zang and some habanero hot sauce I found in a store called, I kid you not, La Tienda. And this was at the in-law's house. And I brought my own stuff. So I will probably be known as the drunk uncle.

Well, at least it was a damn good bloody mary.

Cochon, a great restaurant in New Orleans, has a wonderful recipe:

Cochon Bloody Mary
(yields 10–12 servings)

1 can V8 (46 oz.)
2 tbsp. finely ground black pepper
2 tbsp. whole grain mustard
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1.5 oz. pork jus
1.5 oz. lime juice
2.5 oz. lemon juice
3.5 oz. hot sauce (preferably Crystal brand)
2 oz. green hot sauce
1.5 oz. red wine vinegar
1 oz. olive juice
1.5 oz. okra juice (the brine from a jar of pickled okra)
vodka of choice

Mix it up: Combine everything in a pitcher—except vodka—and stir. To serve: Fill glass with ice. Add about 2 ounces of vodka. Fill with Bloody Mary mixture. Stir, garnish with pickled okra and a stalk of celery, and serve. The mixture can be made ahead of time and kept in a sealed pitcher for up to a week.
