A VMI retired General Officer is interviewing for the open position of the Commandant of the Corps after the last one had to resign in shame because he lacked any sort of leadership. As a simple retired Regular Army Officer, I'm on "Team VMI" and pulling for the VMI candidate. We need to stop the inbreeding at Texas A&M if we want to continue to have a Corps of Cadets.

Some new blood from service academies and other senior military colleges will do wonders for our Corps of Cadets.

Agreed. FWIW, the Corps has never produced a Four Star General for the US Army. The Navy, The Air Force, The Marines have all had a Corps 4 star. Time to catch up. New blood as Commandant might help.

Myself, I was just in LexVegas in early November for a VMI home game and parade. It was the best weather of all time in Lexington.

Funny story, we were visiting with some people at a tailgate on the parade deck and this smokin' hot little Asian girl walks up. Yeah, turns out it was one of my daughter's "BRs".

I felt really dirty after that. I didn't recognize her out of uniform and without a rifle.

I do t care who they pick as long as he's good at the job and doesn't make solo decisions. If he's reluctant to include cadet leadership input when considering changes then he's probably considering bad changes.

Nice! My father went back 2ish years ago for a game. He was a TE back in the day and has recently gotten more involved as an alumnus 50+ years later!

I was born in Lexington, dad was a mink (IYKYK) after WWII. My brother is VMI '71. I was exiled to College Station.

Buzz Mosley '71 was AF Chief of Staff which is 4 star.

The VMI Cadet Corps was called out to fight in the Battle of New Market. My GGF was one of the cadets and his cousin was one of those killed in the battle. Was invited for New Market Day on 150th anniversary of the battle. Very impressive. The New Market Day ceremony is Muster on steroids.

Just announced that Lieutenant General James W. Bierman Jr. will be the 47th Commandant. Anyone have any thoughts on him?

Edit: just realized he's probably the VMI guy OP mentioned.
