We had a usual customer who was homeless at one of our stores. Unfortunately he was run over and killed in front of our store two days ago. The driver never stopped to render aide. It was 4am and help did not arrive for 30 minutes. It's all on our surveillance.

I believe he was prior military and was hoping to make sure he gets a proper burial. I don't know of any family he has. I have a first and last name as well as a birth date.

I searched and it looks like I can request this information but I'm not sure how long it would take. I want to find out if he served and what branch so I can notify the proper authorities. Thanks!

You can try the VA homeless program

With a full name and birth date they may be able to find his DD214. The more info you can give them the better odds of finding his records. Things like duty stations etc.
