Do the military academies ever focus on Native American battle tactics?

Can't speak for the academies...but this is discussed and studied in professional military education. This varies, depending on one's branch and service. The Army has a few staff rides to cover such topics. Look up Combat Studies Institute Staff Rides.
Chasin Geronimo should have a ton of lessons about going into a foreign land where the "enemy" knows the country, water, escape routes, ambush ops, will to fight, and conditioning to be able to keep on going and fighting in the harshest of weather and terrain.
