Over two years after the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan two top military leaders who led the operation will testify before Congress about the hasty retreat that left 13 service members dead.

House Foreign Affairs Committee lawmakers will question former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley and former Commander U.S. Central Command Gen. Kenneth McKenzie on Tuesday.

The hearing serves as a platform for the former military leaders to deliver an assessment of the withdrawal, which has been labeled a failure by some Democrats and nearly all Republicans.

It is the first time that the two generals are testifying before Congress since retiring and lawmakers want to get candid answers from the former military brass they believe have critical insights into Biden's handling of the disaster. .....
