Do any of you current and/or former Sailors know what this is? We've been trying to correctly identify it for sometime without success. We believe it came off of the U.S.S. Iwo Jima (LPH-2). When hung up, the clapper is free to move and hit the outer shell. Makes a cool sound.

Because the museum for which I volunteer once had the island structure off the Iwo, and this is one of the artifacts that was with it. The plan was to use the island structure as a multi-story museum. However, aluminum prices with through the roof, and the superstructure was cut up and sold for scrap.

Not Navy, but it looks like a homemade bell. Not sure what they would have used it for, maybe something for well deck operations?

That looks like a Ship's Gong. Ships have Whistles, Bells, and Gongs. The Gongs are in the after portions of the vessel, used in low visibility at anchor.
