Biden just authorized calling up 3,000 troops from the reserves, with no more than 450 being from the IRR to support OAR. Is this because of the recruiting crisis or is EUCOM about to get spicy?

Cant touch me, I tapped out all my years. This is the reason I always told my Soldiers to re-enlist for enough years to be untouchable with regards to the IRR.

We need to bring back the draft, or better yet, conscription. Everyone needs skins in the game and it would hopefully turn "men" back into men.

This is why I went NG after my AD stint. Better to know my obligation than live in fear of the IRR

I did 2 years in the Guard after 4 years active duty. My Guard contract included an "MSO reduction". Basically had my remaining obligation cut in half instead of getting a bonus.

Technically, my final set of orders says "Retired Reserve."

You'll know it's about to get spicy when they start recalling 50 year old Majors.

So turns out this was all transportation buba's so they could do their annual deployment exercise. Mostly train loading specialists, 88U, of which they have few currently on active. So they brought up a reserve unit to fill the gaps.
