Anyone know why cadets are wearing midnight pants with regular B top ? Seems to be the regular uniform now, at least I'm seeing it more in pictures posted on social media. Don't remember wearing this combo in my day.

Winter B's used to be midnight pants with long sleeve khaki top. At some point someone decided to combine it with short sleeves. Personally not a huge fan, though seeing it as much as I do now I don't find it as ugly as I once did.

But to answer your question on why, I'm not sure why they decided that or who made that decision.

Standard winter uniform from Nov 1 to spring break for us 1983-87 was pink trousers, serge pants inly worn by juniors, short (tropical) or long sleeve khaki shirt, and green bider with white, black or no stripe.

For basketball games we always wore black ties

Green bider was gone in somewhere around 85 or 86. Definitely gone by 86, replaced by pink bider. Short sleeve khaki was almost always still worn.

Would somebody please bring me up to speed. When I hear about "Midnight Pants" I think about the green trousers that were out of the inventory long before I was a fish in 1966. Have these made a comeback?

Let's see I'm class of 87 and green biders were still being worn during my time, and pink biders were only worn by seniors since they had a gold braid.

Identify your class year please

Good to know. The change happened after we graduated and the class of 88 screwed everything up

Thank you for a cautious, timely on point reply. You don't always get that on here. When you ask a question, you pay your money, and you take your chances.

I remember as a fish cojutating it was an odd combination. Always took a week whenever the change was made every year to get used ti it. Did enjoy the fact that you could go much longer between cleanings with pink trousers and biders…erasers did a good job of removing any marks.

Always thought a short sleeve green shirt would make a nice combo as a winter B.

You'd be in agreement with the new Commandant's class. The class of '93 despised the pink winter pants so much that they just stayed in summers the entire school year.

Yall threw a temper tantrum about uniforms?

Of course yall also started wearing class Bs to football games because you were weak and couldn't handle the heat

Slow your roll there. I'm Class of '92.

We wore Class A summers to games, long sleeve with the black tie, no problem. They didn't start the short sleeve stuff until later in the 1990s.

We also drilled in the afternoon and I used to got a kick out of watching folks fall out as heat casualties when it was 105 F, 106 F in late August (I had only left Saudi Arabia 3 years earlier so I wasn't too impressed with 105 F).

Class A Winters with white belt were still the norm for performances later in the season.

And unless you were in the stands at TCU for "The Hit", don't even talk to me about cold weather. Although the 1989 GHW Bush Inauguration was pretty damn cold too.

Keep in mind, cold weather wasn't something they thought up the second week in November your fish year. Pretty damn cold is a good way to remember the Cotton Bowl 1/1/68 and then there was that miserable cold game in Austin. Thanksgiving of '74.

1984 Arkansas game in Fayetteville: sleet and rain, upper 20's/low 30's

Class A winters + Raingear with liner was only so warm after sitting in those metal bleachers for 3 hours while your team is getting shut out.

TCU was cold, but dry

Geez Aggie Jim I was at all of those but the Inauguration and you are correct all cold. But Baylor at Kyle in '75 and '76 were wet and cold. In '75 I wore a tee shirt to midnight yell the night before, while marching over the blue norther blew in and soaked and froze me in preparation.
